Middlebury honored Jay with the title Professor of the Practice of Rhetoric and Oratory. He is collaborating with professors across disciplines, showing how the art of rhetoric can help students better convey their thinking.

Working with Dana Yeaton in the Theater Department, he will co-teach a January term rhetoric course in 2018. Meanwhile, he is advising the administration and faculty on ways to bring rhetorical concepts and courses to Middlebury.
